Ben Zierden, 72, Cold Spring, died Friday at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral serviece will be 11 am Monday at St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring, with the Rev Giles Nathe officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 3 pm Sunday at Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring. There will be four prayer services at the funeral home - the Catholic Order of Foresters at 7:30 pm, parish prayers at 8 pm, St. Joseph Society at 8:30 pm and the Knights of Columbus at 9 pm.
Mr. Zierden was born Oct 12, 1908 in New Munich to the late John and Anna (Bredeck) Zierden. He married Agnes Sonnen on April 12, 1932. He was employed by Cold Spring Granite Co. until he retired in 1973. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Joseph Society.
Survivors include a son, Richard, Bloomington, and brothers and sisters, Mrs. Claude (Elizabeth) Schwieters and Norbert, St. Joseph; Sister Agnes, St. Cloud; Sister Mary Monica, Albany; Alex, Shawano, WI; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be nephews Delroy Zierden, Donald Zierden, Cyril Zierden, Charles Hoppe, Nolan Nathe and Clarence Schwieters.
