Obituary
HAMPDEN and OLD TOWN - Phyllis B. (Adams) Peters, 80, wife of the late Carroll G. Peters, went home to be with her home in Brewer. She was born in Houlton, April 29, 1923, the daughter of Chester and Elva (Smith) Adams. Phyllis grew up in Houlton and was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute. Phyllis's husband, children, grandchildren and family were her source of joy, and her focus in life. She had a tremendous memory, and always remembered birthday's, anniversary's and special dates. Phyllis loved roses and music boxes, and enjoyed collecting recipes and music boxes. She was a long-time Hampden resident, and was a member of the Whitcomb-Baker V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 4633 of Hampden and the Old Town V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 3381. She was a volunteer for Hospital Chaplaincy Service in Newburgh. Phyllis leaves a legacy of love and caring for others, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Pamela DuPont and her husband, James DuPont Sr., of Bucksport, Sandra Sprouse and her husband, James, of Winterport, Martin Peters and his wife Noreen, of Glenburn, Jeffrey Peters of Dixmont, and Michele Trimm and her husband, Ronald, of Milford; one brother, Donald Adams of Bangor; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Carroll, in 1995; and by a grandson, Brad Trimm. Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
