Obituary
HAMPDEN-Carroll Gilbert Peters, 79, husband of Phyllis (Adams) Peters, died Dec. 21, 1995, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Orient, July 1, 1916, the son of Marcus G. and Clara (Clough) Peters. Carroll was a longtime resident of Hampden and had worked for area auto dealerships in auto reconditioning. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Carroll is survived by his wife of 52 years, Phyllis of Old Town; two sons, Martin G. and his wife, Noreen Peters of Glenburn, Jeffrey L. Peters of Glenburn, Jeffery L. Peters of Hampden; three daughters, Pamela D. DuPont and her husband, James of Bucksport, Sandra D. Ziegler of Winterport, and Michele A. Trimm and her husband, Ronald of Milford; one sister, Ethel Pratt of Danforth; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at the Hampden Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Robert C. Henderson, pastor of the West Hampden Baptist Church, officiating. Interment in the springtime will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
