HODGDON - Miles O. Smith, 87, died Feb. 4 at his home here. He was born in Hodgdon June 19, 1888, the son of William and Emma Terrill Smith. He was a member of the East Hodgdon Union Church and the Houlton Grange. A dairy farmer in Hodgdon for many years, he is survived by his wife, Dora Gildard Smith, Hodgdon; two sons, Weldon of Hodgdon and Floyd of Windsor, Conn.; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace Ruby Sjoberg, and Mrs. Glenn Flora Duff, both of Hodgdon, and Mrs. Harold Evelyn Duff of Thomaston; one brother, Harold V. Smith of Hodgdon; one sister, Mrs. Chester Elva Adams of Littleton; 22 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton, Thursday, 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Courter officiating. Interment will be in the East Hodgdon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make donations in his memory to the East Hodgdon Union Church.Endnotes
