Obituary
EAST HODGDON - Weldon Smith, 69, died Aug. 7, 1991, at a Houlton hospital. He was born in Hodgdon, April 26, 1922, the son of Miles and Dora (Gildard) Smith. He attended the Houlton Wesleyan Church. He was a potato farmer in the Houlton area until retiring in 1983. He was well-known as a chef and for his "Smitty's Best Potatoes" and salad dressing. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Rhoda) Smith of East Hodgdon; one son and daughter-in-law, Otis and Michele Smith of Hodgdon; three daugthers and two sons-in-law, Joanne and Hank Spigner of Sumter, S.C., Sharon Smith of East Hodgdon and Carolyn and Rick Stamper of East Hodgdon; one brother, Floyd Smith of Windsor, Conn.; three sisters, Ruby Sjoberg of Hodgdon; Flora Duff of East Hodgdon; and Evelyn Duff of Thomaston; one grandson, five granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at the Dunn Funeral Home 1 p.m. Friday with Rev. Gary Beers and Rev. Bud Fancy officiating. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery. Friends who wish may make donations in his memory to The Living Waters Bible Camp of the Tal McNutt Ministries or the charity of their choice, care of the Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton 04730.Endnotes
