EAST HODGDON - Harold V. Smith, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 1978, at his home following a brief illness. He was born at Houlton, Feb. 27, 1906, the son of William and Emma (Terrill) Smith. He was a member of Rockebema Lodge No. 78 of Houlton and worked most of his life as a contractor builder. He is survived by his wife, Bessie, of East Hodgdon; two sons, E. Linwood and Robert, both of Hodgdon; three daughters, Marilyn Farrar, Cathy Smith and Sylvia Quint, all of Hodgdon; one sister, Elva Adams of Littleton; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton, with the Rev. Daniel Courter offficiating. Interment will be in East Hodgdon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Hodgdon Union Church.Endnotes
