John R. Kees, 69, a direct descendant of the first settlers of Hudson, died Tuesday, February 27, in a hospital in Sun City, Arizona, after suffering a stroke two days earlier.
Mass of Christian Burial was March 1 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Sun City with burial in Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
John R. Kees was born June 20, 1910 in Langdon, North Dakota, the son of Richard and Anne Lombard Kees. He came to Hudson with his parents as an infant and later attended St. Patrick's Parochial School. He was graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 1926.
Kees is survived by two brothers, Thomas of Hudson and Francis of Phoenix, Arizon. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Eugene, in 1928.
