Minnie Eleanor Carlson

Minnie's father, Nels August "August" Carlson, was born on June 20, 1864 in Vennersnasscoken, Vestergotland, Sweden, and came to America at the age of eighteen. He was married to Mathilda "Tilda" Carlson at Marinette, Wisconsin in June 1938. They resided at Marinette for two years before coming to the farm at Harris where they resided for forty-eight years. Mathilda was born in Vestergotland, Skaraborgslan, Sweden on February 17, 1870 and came to America at the age of eleven. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Spring Lake. August and Tilda were charter members of the First Lutheran Church of Harris.
Minnie was baptized and confirmed at the Harris Lutheran Church. She was graduated from the North Branch High School and Teachers Normal at Rush City and taught, public schools at Amador and Harris, Minnesota for a number of
years.
She was married to Al Hawkinson in 1917, and in 1919 they moved to Jordan, Montana. Minnie had brothers and sisters: Arthur Carlson, Esther Carlson (Mrs. Gilbert) Hollander, Jenny Carlson Baker, Viola Carlson Hoglund.
She enjoyed cooking.
Funeral services for Minnie were held from the Jordan Lutheran Church, Jordan, Montana, where she had been an active member for many years. Preceeding her in death were her sisters, Jenny Baker and Viola Hoglund.

Mrs. Al Hawkinson Dies Friday
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lutheran church at Jordan for Mrs. Minnie E. Hawkinson, 60, who died Friday.
Rev. Moldenhauer officiated with burial in the Pioneer cemetery. Graves Funeral Home of Miles City was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hawkinson, wife of Al Hawkinson, was born Sept. 24, 1891, in Harris, Minn., where her mother still lives. She came to Jordan with her husband 35 years ago. Before moving to town, they ranched in the aea for 15 years.
In addition to her husband and mother survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Verna Mellor, San Francisco; a son, Woodrow Hawkinson, Circle; a sister, Mrs. Gilbert Hollander, St. Cloud, Minn., and a brother, Arthur Carlson, St. Paul.

Verna Mellor, daughter of Al Hawkinson, left Wednesday to return to her home in Calif. Mrs. Hollander also returned to her home in Minnesota.
