Death
Daniel Christian Furr, 74, of Culpeper, died Aug. 30, 2016, at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He was born June 4, 1942, in Fauquier County, to the late Jackson and Katherine Furr. Mr. Furr was a superintendent with Lane Enterprises in Bealeton, from which he retired after 39 years of service. He attended Family Community Church in Culpeper. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Furr; his children, Lorrie A. Furr of Bealeton, Daniel R. Furr of South Carolina, Robert C. Furr of King George and Kenneth S. Furr of Richmond; his stepchildren, Thomas C. Kerns Jr. of Culpeper, Jason C. Kerns of Sumerduck and Shane C. Kerns, of Culpeper; his siblings, Alice Trenum of Locust Grove, Charlie Furr of Boise, Idaho, Mable Canard of Warrenton, Georgia Dawson of Sumerduck and Virginia Furr of Remington; 17 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren along with many friends. Seven siblings, Wesley Furr, Jack Furr, Howard Furr, Harvey Furr, Joe Furr, Elizabeth Wines and Ruth Slayton, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Family Community Church in Culpeper. The service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens near Jeffersonton. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Community Church, 120 Chestnut St., Culpeper, Va. 22701.Endnotes
