Death
Mr. Jackson Lee Furr, 86, of Keymar, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Thelma Rose Sirois Furr, whom he married Dec. 21, 1982. Born Dec. 29, 1918, in Warrenton, Va., he was a son of the late Jackson Reid and Catherine Hailey Furr. Mr. Furr was a member of the Thurmont Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed camping and horseback riding in the Wellsville Frontier Days, at Wellsville, Pa. He was a plant manager for Capitol Milk/Highs Dairies on East Patrick Street in Frederick for over 35 years until his retirement. He enjoyed a long retirement, and enjoyed riding horseback up until two years ago. Surviving besides his wife, are his daughter, Doris Tyree and husband Oerman of Richmond, Va. Four sisters, Virginia Furr, Mabel Carnard and husband Floyd, Alice Trenum and husband Donald, and Georgia Dawson, all of Warrenton, Va. Three brothers, Harvey Furr of Front Royal, Va., Daniel Furr and wife Elizabeth of Warrenton, and Charles Furr of New Mexico. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Furr is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 1201 N. Market St., Frederick, where friends may call Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 9 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Linda Lambert officiating. Interment will be in Utica Cemetery, Utica.Endnotes
