From Chet Peters book: Rebecca allegedly rode a buckskin pony from her home in VA. to Berrien, County Michigan to serve in the Carey Indian Mission which was founded and run by a relative, Rev. Isaac McCoy. Rebecca's family apparently disapproved strongly of this and allegedly disowned her.
