Per Chet Peter's book: Anna first married a neighbors son, and at his death she married John Ammen. John owned 200 acres of excellent farm land on the Fincastle Road, here he built a small log house, replacing it with a larger one when the family increased. He provided for a good education for the Beckner children, when he died his estate went to his father Durst's heirs.

Christina was living in the house of son John, in Botetourt County, VA. at the time of the 1850 Federal Census.
