Death
Jack Arnold Furr Sr., age 78, of Summerville SC, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 26, 2013. He was born in Lancaster, SC on August 26, 1935 to the late Hurley Furr and Margie Flowers Furr. He served his country for several years in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a merchant seaman and was employed for 15 years by Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Steel Workers of America, the VFW, and the American Legion. He enjoyed working in his yard and always had a garden. Jack is survived by his sons: Jack Furr Jr. of North Charleston SC, Gary Furr of Summerville SC, Don Furr of Summerville SC, and Steve Furr of Summerville SC; sister: Selah Furr of Summerville SC; grandchildren: Deavon Furr, Jack A. Furr III, Charlotte Faye Furr, and Kurstin Michelle Furr. He was preceded in death by his wives: Joyce Faye Furr in September 2000, and Betty M. Furr in January 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 29 2014 in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 29 2014 at the funeral home from 10:15 AM until the hour of service. Services provided by Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations.Endnotes
