Death
Hurley Furr Sr., 80, died Monday. Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Dever W. and Lula Louise Wright. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was a retired building contractor and land developer. Mr. Furr was also a retired machinist of the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Margie Lee Flowers Furr; sons, Hurley Furr Jr. of Moncks Corner, Jack Furr of Charleston, David Furr of Summerville and Jimmy R. and Steve R. Furr of North Charleston; daughters, Helen B. Furr of Fayetteville, N.C., Selah Mitchum of Ravenel and Margie L. Blythe of North Charleston; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Plans will be announced by J. Henry Stuhr’s Funeral Home, Northwoods Chapel.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, September 17, 1985
