Death
Betty Densler Furr SUMMERVILLE - Betty Densler Furr, 72, of Summerville, SC, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, peacefully at home. Born May 20, 1937 in Georgetown, SC, she was one of two children of John Chester McDonald and Juanita Bellflower McDonald. She graduated from North Charleston High School and received her nursing license from Roper School of Nursing. Betty was a licensed practical nurse more than 20 years with oral surgeon, Dr. Richard Brock. She was a former member of the Charleston County Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer of Trident Medical Center and a member of Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband of eight years, Jack Furr of Summerville, SC. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Robert Darling Densler, Jr. Survivors include her three daughters: Donna D. Kizer and her husband, Tom, of Summerville, SC, Barbara D. Fanning of Columbia, SC and Pamela J. Beasley of Charleston, SC; five grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, John C. "Dickie" McDonald and his wife Becky of Goose Creek, SC; and step-sons: Jack Furr, Jr., Gary Furr and Donnie Furr all of Charleston, SC. The funeral service will be held at Ridge Baptist Church Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Thursday, January 28, 2010 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
