Death
CLOVER — Mr. Rufus Lee Furr, 70, of 6087 Lake Wylie Road died March 24, 1996, at his residence. Funeral is 4 p.m. Wednesday at Delphia Penticostal Church, York with Rev. Talmadge Bass and Rev. John Morris officiating. Burial will be in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Fort Mill. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Whitesell-Wolfe Funeral Home. Mr. Furr was retired from Springs Industries. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II and a member of Fort Mill V.F.W., Post No. 9138. Mr. Furr was also a member of Delphia Penticostal Church, York. Survivors include his wife, Imogene K. Furr of Clover; daughters, Ms. Maria F. Crump of Midland, Ms. Rita Jean Havens of Clover, Mrs. Becky F. Gorman of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Mrs. Betty F. Phipps of Bishopville; sisters, Mrs. Louise Covington of Rock Hill, Mrs. Margaret of Fort Mill and Miss Zorado Furr of Fort Mill; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of York County, P.O. Box 2742, C.R.S., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
