Death

Edith Furr 'Diane' Mrs. Furr, of Charlotte, was born on February 12, 1945. She went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2009. She was a loving mom to all of of her kids and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended Garinger High School before starting a family. She drove for the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She fostered many animals for the humane society. One of her main goals in life was to help animals find homes. She lived life her way no matter what. She's in heaven now with her parents, daughter and son. 'Maw Maw or Maw, as she was known, is happy and without pain. We love ya ma and miss you so much.' Surviving, her are her children, daughter Bonnie and husband Junior Rataj, daughter Angie Arp, son Matt and wife Teresa Garner, son Daly and wife Kourtney Furr; grandchildren Amber and Nikki Rataj, Christy and Nate Pierce, Emily and Christian Garner, and Kayleigh Furr; great grandchildren, Lisa and Alex Rataj and Nevan, Aidea and Aidan Pierce; and siblings Rick, Peggy, Janet, Judy, Donnie, Steve, Ronnie, Mike Arthur and Tim. Preceding her in death are her dad and mom Lester and Ardenia Furr, brother Dodie Furr, daughter Vanessa Garner and son Justin Ervin. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday May 15, 2009 at Sharon Memorial Park conducted by Reverend Dale Shields. Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212.
