Death
CHARLOTTE - Arthur Paul "Pod" Furr, 68, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away May 15, 2014, at his home. Arthur was born May 17, 1946 to Lester and Ardenia Furr. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged April 7, 1972. He enjoyed life and was well known for his hard work, outgoing personality and love of the beach. He was a professional painter and an avid coin collector. Most of all he was a wonderful friend and father. Arthur is survived by brothers: Rick, Tim, Mike, Donnie, Ronnie, Steve and sisters Judy Mills and Peggy McGee as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his son Arthur Paul Saunders and three beautiful grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Lester Furr Jr. and his sisters Diane Foy and Janet Gibson.Published in Charlotte Observer on May 23, 2014
