Death
Retha C. Furr, 64, who was associated with Royal Chemical Company and Pfeiffer College, died suddenly Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Stanly County Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. A native of Stanly County, he was a son of the late Ransom and Nancy Lambert Furr, and was a member of Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He resided at 445 Spring Street in Albemarle. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 o’clock at Lefler Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James A. Faggart will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Miss Gladys Taylor; one daughter, Nancy Pauline Furr of Charlotte; two sons, Roland Anthony Furr of Route 2, Albemarle, and Major R. Cornelius Furr of the U. S. Air Force in Clinton, Maryland; four sisters, Miss Alieann Furr, Mrs. J. V. Whitley, and Mrs. J. Paul Bowers, all of Route 3, Albemarle, and Mrs. Coy Smith of Concord; and one brother, Walter Furr of Route 3, Albemarle.
