ALBEMARLE — Gladys Mae Taylor Furr, 84, of 445 Spring St., died Friday, Oct. 26, 1990, at 1:40 p.m, at her home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Lefler Memorial Chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Phelps. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, P.O. Box 55, Albemarle, N.C. 28002, or to First Baptist Church, 202 N. Second St., Albemarle, N.C. 28001. She was born Jan. 28, 1906, in Lexington, daughter of the late Pearl Branch and Agnes Hester Hathcock Taylor. A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Albemarle, the Stanly County War Mothers and the Ablemarle unit of Woodmen of the World. Her husband, R.C. Furr, died in 1967. Survivors include two sons, R.C. Furr Jr. of Albemarle and Roland A. “Tony” Furr of Badin; a daughter, Pauline “Polly” Furr of Charlotte; a grandchild; and six great-grandchildren.
