Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Laura Furr Whitley, 82, of 1115 Efird Street, Albemarle, died Wednesday at Stanly County hospital. Services will be 3 p m Friday at the Bear Cfeek Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Haywood Morrison and Elder Chif Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born June 10, 1891, in Stanly County, Mrs. Whitley was the daughter of Ransom and Nancy Lowder Furr. She was educated in Stanly schools and was a member of the Bear Creek church. Her husband, Jacob V. Whitley, died in 1952. Survivors include one son, Horace Whitley of Fayetteville, one daughter, Mrs. Armon Webb of Albemarle, two sisters Mrs. R. Coy Smith of Concord and Mrs. J. Paul Bowers of Albemarle, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 9 pm today at Lefler Funeral Home.Endnotes
