Death
Concord. — Eli Furr, 76, died Monday morning at his home here. He had been in ill health for more than two years and his condition had been critical for the past two weeks. Funeral services were conducted at the West Concord Baptist Church yesterday afternoon and burial was in Union Cemetery. Mr. Furr was born in Stanly County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Josh Furr. He married Mrs. Willie Furr, who survives him, 13 years ago. Others surviving are: Three daughters, Mrs. Annie Elbert of Fayetteville, Mrs. Lindy Billings of Cabarrus, and Mrs. Fannie Helms of Salisbury; two sons, A. L. Furr of Burlington and E. A. Furr of Kannapolis; a brother, Marshall Furr of Albemarle; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Sides of this city and Mrs. Hallie Herring of Albemarle; and a half-brother and four half-sisters.The News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, August 25, 1937
