Mahalia Melinda Furr Herrin, no date. Mrs Herrin died at her home in Albemarle. The body was in the home of her daughter, Mrs Hugh S Ritchie until the funeral rites which were at West Albemarle Baptist Church with pastor Rev C R Hinton officiating. Mrs Herrin was a charter member of the church. Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery. Mrs Herrin was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs William E Furr of Stanly County, born January 20, 1870; married to the late John W Herrin on December 29, 1887. Mr Herrin died in August 1922. She was survived by 10 children, three daughters and seven sons: Mrs E H Lowser, Hopewell, VA; Mrs H J Underwood, Route 1 Albemarle; Mrs H S Ritchie, Albemarle; C E Herrin, Concord; J R Herrin, Albemarle; W H Herrin, Louden, Tennessee; D M Herrin, Salisbury; D A Herrin, Albemarle; G F Herrin, Albemarle; and Marshall W Herrin, Albemarle.Endnotes
