Death
Funeral services were held Saturday at Friendship Methodist church, Stanly county, for Mrs. Beadie Lucinda Sides, aged past 90, who died Thursday of burns suffered the week before when her clothing caught, fire at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. J. Lefler, RFD 3. Albemarle. Mrs. Sides made her home with Mrs. Lefler. She was rushed to the hospital immediately after she was burned but complications and shock, combined with her advanced age, proved fatal. She was the daughter of the late William E. and Linda Furr of Stanly county and widow of Monroe Sides. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Lefler, and one son, L. H. Sides of Concord; a brother, Marshall Furr, and a sister, Mrs. J. W. Herrin, both of Albemarle; two half-brothers, John M. Furr of Guilford college and Grover Furr of High Point, and five half-sisters, Mrs. Ida Hampton of Rockwell, Mrs. Charles Sells of Concord, Mrs. Mary Hill and Mrs. Wade Lowder of Albemarle and Mrs. Arabelle Misenheimer of Durham, 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, March 21, 1944
