Death
ALBEMARLE — George C. Furr, 60, of 1323 Walnut Street, died Saturday in the VA Hospital in Salisbury. Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 o'clock in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Benny Carpenter. Burial will follow in Herrins Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted. The body will remain at the funeral home. Mr. Furr was born September 18, 1911, in Stanly County, son of the late Clevie and Laura Almond Furr. He was a World-War II veteran and retired from Page's Church Manufacturing Co. He is survived by one son, Odell Furr of Albemarle; one daughter, Mrs. William Yarborough of Albemarle, and one grandchild.Military
