Death
SALISBURY - Faye E. Sherrill, 88, of Salisbury died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Sherrill was born Oct. 18, 1917, in Stanly County and was the daughter of the late Alonso Shuford Furr and Novella Hathcock Furr of Albemarle. She attended Stanly County schools and graduated from Pfeiffer College, The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Catholic University in Washington, D.C. and also attended Columbia Teachers College in New York City. Mrs. Sherrill worked as a registered nurse in High Point and Concord before retiring from the Hefner V.A. Medical Center in Salisbury. Her husband John F. Sherrill Jr. died August 28, 1996. Surviving Faye are her children Sylvia S. Butler of Salisbury; and her daughters Amanda Morgan, Sarah Morgan and Laura Faye Butler; Rebecca S. Blankenship of Salisbury with her husband Danny and daughter Julia; her son John F. Sherrill III of Woodleaf and his wife Nancy and their children J. Cameron Sherrill, Meghan Clifton, Evan Clifton; and great granddaughter Mia Cruz; and her sister Elvine "Beanie " Peck of Albemarle. Visitation: 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Summersett Funeral Home. Service: Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Concord with the Rev. Carl R. Sachtleben, pastor of St. Johns Lutheran Church presiding. Memorials: St. John 's Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28144. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Sherrill Family.Endnotes
