Death
WHITMIRE, Helen EUTAWVILLE - Mrs. Helen Furr Whitmire, 78, wife of William Edward "Bill" Whitmire, died Saturday, in a North Charleston Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 o'clock, Monday, in the Chapel of Avinger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Eutawville Cemetery. Mrs. Whitmire was born in Pineville, NC, a daughter of the late Albert Furr and Ada Dry Furr. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Daughters of the Nile and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Whitmire was a retired cosmetologist. Survivors are her husband of the home; a daughter, Jacqulyn Diane Singletary of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son William Archie Whitemire of Aiken; a sister Laura Merret of Charlotte; brothers, James L. Furr of Ft. Mill and Ray Albert Furr of Charlotte; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Friends may call at the funeral home 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday afternoon.
