Death
Mr. Floyd C. Furr 89, of 202 Franklin Street, Pineville, NC, died December 26, 1997, at 12:45 A.M. at Lakeview Living Center, Pineville, NC. Mr. Furr was born in Pineville, NC, the second son of Albert and Ada Day Furr. He retired as a machinist from Bouligny Company and was a member of Pineville Church of the Nazarene, Adult Bible Class and J.O.Y. Club. He loved his church and gave 60 years of faithful, dedicated service in love. A memorial service will be 11 A.M. Monday, December 29, 1997, at Pineville Church of The Nazarene, honoring his life and celebrating his homegoing. The Reverend Doyle Smith, The Reverend Michael Bearden, and The Reverend Jack Price will officiate. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7:30-9 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 1997, at Pineville Church of The Nazarene. Survivors are his beloved wife of 62 years, Billie Ruth; son Joe and his wife Jean; granddaughters, Cindy and her husband, Steven Price, and Sharon and her husband, Sheldon Groner, all of Charlotte, NC; surviving brothers, Dewey, Ralph and James, all of Fort Mill, SC, and Ray of Charlotte, NC; surviving sisters, Lucille Stewart of Fort Mill, SC, Laura Merritt of Charlotte, NC, and Helen Whitmire of Eutawville, SC, along with 10 nephews and 11 nieces. He also leaves a wonderful church family, good neighbors and a host of friends. We will miss him deeply but his Godly influence and treasured memories will be with us always. Memorials may be made to The Building Fund of the Pineville Church of the Nazarene, 8614 Pineville-Matthews Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.
