Death
FORT MILL -- Mr. Dewey Furr, 94, of 145 Garrison Farm Road died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wolfe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Parrish officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road. A native of Concord, N.C., Mr. Furr was a son of the late Albert Gainsville Furr and Ada Drye Furr. He was a self-employed carpenter, attended Bible Baptist Church and was a member of the Redman's Association. Surviving are two brothers, Ray Furr of Charlotte and James Furr of Fort Mill; three sisters, Helen Whitmire of Eutawville, Laura Furr Merritt of Charlotte and Lucile Furr Stewart of Fort Mill; his grandson; three great-grandchildren; and his great-great granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter-in-law, Joyce Norris, 3026 Vernon St. in Fort Mill.Endnotes
