Death
L. C. “Cedar” Furr, age 83 of Castalian Springs, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Steve Brigance and Bro. Phil Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Silas Furr and Cannon Dollard. Mr. Furr was born July 30, 1937 in Gans, OK to the late Silas C. Furr and Bessie Ann Cantrell Furr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Vaughn Wright Furr; brother, Carl Furr; and sisters, Mildred Woods, Ima Renfro, and Anna Stegman. He is survived by son, Cedar Wright Furr (ReDonna) of Castalian Springs; daughter, Jill Jacine Furr of Mountainburg, AR; brother, Paul Furr of Bethpage and J.D. Furr of Arizona; sister, Wilma Baker of Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Carla Holsted Stroud (David), Cajun Furr Bradley (Brady), Olivia Furr, and Silas Furr; and 5 great grandchildren, Kirsten Stroud, Cannon Dollard, Beretta Bradley, Delta Bradley, and Fletcher L.C. Bradley. Mr. Furr served our country in the United States Army. He owned City Café in Gallatin, retired from the Sumner County School System after many years of service.Endnotes
