Death
Paul Nealy Furr, age 87 of Bethpage, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. Funeral Service will be Friday, October 8th at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Bro. Eddie Hodges officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 7th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 8th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, with friends and family serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Free Will Baptist Church, 179 New Shackle Island Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Mr. Furr was born July 7, 1934 in Vian, OK to the late Silas C. Furr and Anna Bessie Cantrell Furr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, F. Kathryn Drummond Furr; son, Mark Duane Furr; brothers, L. C. "Cedar" Furr and James Carl Furr; and sisters, Anna Louise "Bug" Stegman, Mildred Wood, and Imogene Renfro. He is survived by sons, Jeff Furr of Bethpage, James Eric Furr (Charlotte) of Bethpage, and Joel Kelly Furr of Bethpage; daughters, Paula Anderson of Shelby, MT and Ellen Rae Rush (Lyle) of Shelby, MT; brother, J. D. Furr of Bullhead City, AZ; sister, Wilma Baker of Joplin, MO; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Furr was a charter member of Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Columbus, MS and a member of Hendersonville Free Will Baptist Church. He served our country in the United States Air Force for 9 years during the Korean War. Mr. Furr retired from the United States Postal Service after many years of service.
