Death

Tommy Allen Furr, 55, of Stanfield, went home to be with his savior on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at his home. Mr. Furr was born December 8, 1957 in Stanly County to the late Roy Wilson Furr and Evelyn Beatrice Furr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Eudy and a brother Kenneth Furr. Tommy was a loving husband, daddy, paw-paw and brother. He loved his family and friends, they were a huge part of his life. He was employed by Norton Door Controls in Monroe and Anheuser-Busch. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland on Thursday September 12th from 6pm-8pm. The funeral service will be held Friday September 13th at 4pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Vivian Love Furr of the home; three daughters, Tonya Ann Furr of Stanfield, Tiffany Diann Butler and husband D.J. of Albemarle, and Tara Shay Furr of Stanfield; seven grandchildren Bentley Furr, Nariah Furr, Terrez Butler, Jr. Butler, Lawson Butler, Taliyah Smith and Braylen Smith; sisters, Carolyn Torrence and Geraldine Fink; brothers Larry Furr, Curtis Furr, and Ronald Furr. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Furr family. In lieu of flowers a Trust Fund has been set up at Home Savings Bank, Locust.
