Death
KANNAPOLIS — Charles Andrew Furr, 70, of 700 West C. St., died at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, Concord. He had been in ill health for several years, seriously ill for three months. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m, in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev, John Yates, the Rev. John Rector, and the Rev. R. D. Barnett. Interment will be in Carolina Memorial Park. The body will remain at Whitley's Funeral Home where the family will receive visitors tonight from 7 until 9. A life long resident of Cabarrus County, Mr. Furr was the son of the late James Pickney and Nannie Linker Furr. A former employee of Cannon Mills, Plant No, 1, number seven spooler room, he retired in 1966. Mr. Furr'was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Woodmen of the World. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sue Lamb of Winston-Salem, and Mrs. J. C. Morton of Kannapolis; three sons, Eural James Furr, stationed at Simpson Air Force Base in Austin, Texas; Bois and Lewis K. Furr, both of Concord; one brother,Willis J. Furr of Kannapolis; and 12 grandchildren. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J.C. Morton of 526 N. Maple Ave.Endnotes
