Death
ETTA Marion Jeanette Furr Parker, 70, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. She was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Tunica County to Sam and Mae Bird Crawley Furr. She was a retired school proctor with the Tunica County School System. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Furr and the Rev. Rex Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Cleve Parker of Etta; four daughters, Shirley Ferguson of the Enterprise community, Mildred Pinion of Sarah, Leathy Pinion of Tunica and Barbara Gates of Etta; one son, the Rev. John Parker of Batesville; six sisters, Elizabeth Welch of Holcomb, Jeane Franks of Edwardsburg, Mich., Martha Chambers of Southaven, Earline Chambers of Tunica, Edna Chambers of Olive Branch and Blanche Gordon of Greenville; two brothers, Earnest Furr of Tunica and the Rev. Jimmy Furr of Mt. Juliette, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.Endnotes
