Death
Elizabeth Welch, 72, of Holcomb, homemaker, died Wednesday at Methodist Healthcare-University Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Leflore Baptist Church near Holcomb, where she was a member, with burial in Sparta Cemetery there. National Funeral Home in Grenada has charge. Mrs. Welch, the widow of Edgar Smith Welch, leaves three daughters, Faye Davis of Tunica, Sandra Tillman of Holcomb and Betty Durrell of Sallis; two sons, David Welch of Coldwater, and Terry Welch of Holcomb; five sisters, Edna Chambers, Earline Chambers and Martha Chambers, all of Southaven, Jean Franks of Epps, La., and Blanche Gordon of Greenville; two brothers, Jimmy Furr of Huntingdon, Tenn., and Earnest Furr of Tunica, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tennessee, January 3, 2003
