Death

Mrs. Ruth Moss Furr, age 59, of 3616 Midfield Dr. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1969 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the McEwen West Chapel with the Rev. Robert W. Ackerman and the Rev. Paul Sherrill officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Furr was born July 9, 1908 in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late William M. and Mary Bramlett Moss. She was employed with Belk’s Cafeteria and was a member of Chalmers Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, Earl B. Furr; four daughters, Mrs. J. C. Brown, Mrs. H. M. Penninger, Mrs. Kenneth Fowler, Mrs. J. R. Litton, all of Charlotte; three sons, R. L. Furr of Columbia, S. C., E. B. Furr, Jr., of Reidsville, E. J. Furr of Charlotte; a sister, Mrs. J. B. Kirby of Charlotte; a brother, W, J. Moss of Charlotte and 25 grandchildren. The family is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Brown, 912 Bannister Pl and will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm. on Wednesday at McEwen.
