Death
Nelma Jewell Furr Ammons, 92, of Huntersville died March 6, 2017. She was born in Oakboro, NC to Charles and Minnie Furr on November 29, 1924. Survivors include her daughter Saundra Blythe and her husband Bailes of Huntersville, son Mike Ammons and wife Carolyn of Denver, daughter Carol Morrett and husband Mike of Irmo, SC. She had 10 grandchildren Scott, Crystal (Tony), Paul (Lori), Paula, Linda (Eddy), Lori (Larry), Michelle (Mark), Jennifer, Alison, Erin (David). She had 18 great-grandchildren, Cody, Summer, Ryan, Faith, Shawn, Michael, Ashley, Brandon, Morgan, Lillian, Madison, Alex, Cameron, Nicholas, Welsey, Elijah, Grace, and Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl D. Ammons, 6 brothers, 5 sisters and great-grandson Logan. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the American Heart Association. A funeral service will be held at 2PM Thursday, March 9 in the chapel of James Funeral Home with Rev. Doug McLain officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow at Gilead ARP Church. James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.Endnotes
