Albemarle — Mrs. Croson C. Furr, well-known Oakboro citizen, died at her hom (sic), Friday morning at 9:45 o'clock following a serious illness of several months. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Oakboro Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Furr was a member, with the Rev. C. E. Hamilton, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakboro Cemetery. Mrs. Furr is survived by five sons, R. L., J. B., and B. M. Furr, all of Oakboro; R. J. Furr of Norwood; Cc. J. Furr of High Point; five daughters, Misses Hazel and Nelva Furr, Mrs. C. E. Laidlaw, and Mrs. B. L. Mullis, all of Oakboro; and Mrs. T. S. Rogers of Albemarle; two sisters, Mrs. J. E. Thomas and Mrs. D. R. Kennedy, both of Oakboro; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.The News and Observer, Raleigh, North Carolina, October 25, 1941
