Death
Mrs. Cornell Furr Rogers of Oakboro passed away Friday, March 15, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Home of Albemarle. Her funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at Hartsell Funeral Home's, Lefler Memorial Chapel. The Reverend Leslee Wray will officiate and burial will be in the Oakboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2w:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday preceding the service. Born May 10, 1914 in Oakboro, she was the daugher of the late Charles Croson Furr and Maude Hartsell Furr. She was an active member of the Oakboro United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. Her husband, Paul S. Rogers, preceeded her in death. She is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Barbara Padgette and husband, Doug of Flowery Branch, Georgia; Mrs. Paula Shedd and husband, Dan, of Matthews; and Mrs. Cheryl Efird and her husband, Jeff, of Norwood. She is also survived by five grandsons: Steve Padgette, Mark Padgette, Brent Shedd, Michael Shedd, Chad Efird; and eight greatgrandchildren. Surviving sisters include Mrs. Ruth Mullia and Mrs. Hazel Cooper of Albemarle, and Mrs. Nelma Ammons of Charlotte. Memorials may be made to Oakboro United Methodist Church, 405 North Main Street, Oakboro, NC 28129.Endnotes
