Death
CONCORD - Dewey Lee Furr 80 of 26 Todd Drive NW died Monday morning in Cabarrus Memorial Hospital after three years of declining health. Services will be Wednesday at 3 pm in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis conducted by the Rev Horace R McSwain. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. Born April 10 1898 in Cabarrus County he was son of the late Henry and Lydia Gadd Furr. He was a retired Cannon Mills employee and also worked at Car City in Concord. Survivors include his wile Gertrude Blevins Furr two sisters Mrs AH Baker and Mrs Bessie Furr both of Concord, a brother Eugene Furr of Washington DC and two grandchildren.Endnotes
