Death
CONCORD, Feb. 18 — Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Furr today received a message from the War department stating that their son, Pvt. Brooks Edward Furr, died of a heart at yesterday at Fort George Meade, Md. No funeral plans will be made until the arrival of Private Furr's body in Concord. Private Furr was born in Cabarrus county in November, 1907, and was a few months past 35 years old. He enlisted in the United States army last August. Besides his parents, Private Furr is survived by four sisters, Mrs. AIfred E. Baker and Mrs. Bessie Theatt of Concord and Mrs. Callie Herrin and Mrs. O. T. Johnson of Washington, D. C, Two brothers, Dewey and Eugene Furr, both of Concord, also survive.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, February 19, 1943
