Death
Lewis Houston Furr, 86, of 16166 Big Lick Rd., Oakboro, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 1994, in Cabarrus Memorial. His funeral was at 11 a.m. today in Friendship Baptist Church in Stanfield, where she was a member. The Rev. D.O. Lingafelt officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Born Dec.19, 1907, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late John Henry and Mary Burris Furr and was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Martha Rosebelle Burris Furr of the home; two sons, John J. Furr of Concord and Billy Gerald Furr of Mint Hill; a daughter, Willene Simpson of Oakboro; a brother, Roy Furr of Locust; a sister, Autie Pinion of Midland; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
