KANNAPOLIS — Effie Furr Withers, 89, of 924 Oakshade Ave. died at 7:45 am Monday, June 3,1991, at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for two years. The funeral will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Loves Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield, conducted by the Rev Billy Carey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Lady's Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 and the remainder of the time at the home of a daughter, Ruby W Poole, with whom she made her home on Oakshade Avenue. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service on Wednesday. Born Feb 18, 1902, in Stanly County, Mrs Withers was a daughter of the late John and Mary Burris Furr. A homemaker, she was a member of Loves Grove United Methodist Church. Her husband, Z.E Withers, died Sept 20, 1967. Survivors, in addition to her daughter, include a son, Lee R Withers of Montgomery, Ala., a sister, Autie Pinion of Midland, two brothers, Roy and Lewis Furr, both of Oakboro; six grandchildren, and five great-grand-children.
