Death

WITHERS, CMSgt. (USAF, retired) Lee R., 79, passed away in his home on Saturday, February 27, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents, Zell E. Withers and Effie Furr Withers, of Kannapolis, NC; his sister, Ruby Withers Poole, also of Kannapolis; and his wife of 46 years, Betty Stalcup Withers. Survivors include four children: Michael Withers (Clarita) of Forest, VA; Cindy Reaser (Douglas) of Montgomery, AL; Douglas Withers (Kitty Hubbard) of Rochester, NY; and Terry Randall (Gary) of Chapel Hill, NC; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and special friend Shirley Provencher. Mr. Withers moved his family to Montgomery in 1971 when the Air Force transferred him to the Data Systems Design Center at Gunter A.F.S. (now Maxwell A.F.B. Annex). He retired from the military in 1979 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Alcazar Shriners and a member of the Heart of Dixie Mustang Club in Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at Leak-Memory Chapel on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. with graveside services immediately following in Greenwood Serenity Gardens.
