Death
Mrs. Mary Frances Furr Hathcock, 70, of 2011 Little Rock Rd., Charlotte, died Jan. 21, 1996, at Carolinas Medical Center. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hathcock will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at Covenant United Methodist Church, Charlotte, with the Revs. Robert Little and Henry Swanzy officiating. She will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord. Mrs. Hathcock was born in Stanly County on Jan. 16, 1926, the daughter of the late D.F. and Laura Furr. She was a graduate of Stanfield High School and Augusta Business College. She sang in the choir and was an active member of her church. She is survived by her husband, Carl D. Hathcock; son, Don Hathcock; daughter-in-law, Moss Hathcock; two grandchildren, Beth and Christopher Hathcock, all of Charlotte; two brothers, Robert Furr of Harrisburg and Worth Furr of Stanfield; one sister, Lucy Spong of Concord; and three nephews.
