Death
HARRISBURG — Mr. Robert Nelson Furr, 80, of 138 Ridge Dr., Harrisburg, NC, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, NC. Funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 1997, at Harrisburg United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Jacob Golden Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, 1997, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord and other times at the residence. Born May 25, 1916, in Stanly County, NC, Mr. Furr was a member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Men and Harrisburg Lions Club. He retired as a bus driver from Trailways with 43 years service and worked at Wal-Mart at University Place. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Poplin Furr of the home; son, Larry Furr of Harrisburg, NC; brother, Worth Furr of Stanfield, NC; sister, Mrs. Lucy Mae Spong of Concord, NC; and two grandchildren.
