Death

Willie Alexander Furr, age 43, of 2634 Duncan Ave, died at 11:30 Sunday morning in a local hospital after an illness of eight weeks. He was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Stanly County. He was a bus driver and was a member of Love's Grove Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bundy Furr; a step-son, Julius Spears of Charlotte; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph Williams Jr., of Cherry Point, N. C.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Furr of Stanly County; 5 brothers, Huston Furr of Kannapolis, Paul Furr, Worth Furr, Spence Furr and Robert Furr, all of Charlotte: 4 sisters, Mrs. Will Spougs, Mrs. W. B. Lyerly, both of Concord, Mrs. P. C. McCoy of Charlotte, Mrs. Carl Hathcock of Augusta, Ga. The body will be taken to the home at 11 a. m. Monday. Funeral service will be at 3 p. m. Tuesday at Love's Chapel Methodist Church in Stanly County, the Rev. Edgar Pepper officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. F. Kiker of Central Avenue Methodist Church. Interment in the church cemetery. McEwen in charge of arrangements.
