Death
NORWOOD — William Daniel Furr, 86, of Route 3, died Wednesday morning at Stanly Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at South Stanly Baptist Church by the Rev. Henry Jenkins and the Rev. Homer Furr of Tampa Fla., son of Mr. Furr. Burial will be in Whitecrest Baptist Church cemetery in Montgomery County. The family will be at Lefler's Funeral Home in Norwood tonight from 7 to 9. Born Jan 27, 1896, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late William C. and Mary Angaline Rodgers Furr. He was a retired carpenter. His wife, Alma Plyler Furr, preceded him in death. Survivors include three other sons, Paul Furr of Norwood, Leroy Furr of Albemarle and WD Furr Jr. of Hampton, Va., two daughters, Mrs. Gertie Creed and Mrs. J. B. (Idell) Skinner. both of Norwood, a sister, Mrs. Henry Lorch of Albemarle, 30 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.Endnotes
