Death
ALBEMARLE — Mrs. Hattie Furr Almond, 86, of Simms Street, Kings Mountain, died Friday afternoon at the King’s Mountain Convalescent Center. Funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Stanly Memorial Chapel. Rev. Homer W. Furr will preside. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Park. She was born July 2, 1889 in Stanly County to the late William F. and Adeline Rogers Furr. She was formerly employed by Wiscasset Hosiery Mill and Lillian Hosiery Mill. She was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church and was married to the late Hurley H. Furr. He died in 1948. Survivors include two sons, James A. Almond of Pilot Mountain, Luther R Almond of Charlotte; one brother, Daniel W Furr of Norwood, one sister, Mrs. Henry Lorch of Albemarle; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Endnotes
