Death
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva Logue Furr of Albemarle, N. C. were held at the Macedonia Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 8 with Rev. A. H. Griffin officiating. Burial followed in the Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Furr was 76 years old. Survivors include her husband, Mr. W. B. Furr (William D. Furr, Sr.), and son Hiram Spence of Hamilton, Ohio, and three grandchildren. Mrs. Furr was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barwick. Mrs. Furr was a member of the Church of God Church in Bainbridge. Wife of Warner H Spence. Dau of Henry C. and Julia I (Hurst) Barwick. Mother of Hershal, Mary and Hiram Green Spence. The Spence and Barwick families lived next door to one another in 1900 Thomas Co Census, Spence Dist. Eva was recorded as a Holiness preacher which was unusual occupation for a lady of her times.
The 1910 census Thomas Co, GA Meigs Dist show she had born 4 children with 2 living.
The 1920 census shows her and husband Warner living at 27 Cotton Ave, Pelham, GA.
